Trainer Bio
My journey to get healthy and fit began at age 48. I was a first time mother at age 40. I was out of shape, feeling tired, and unable to keep up with the energy level of my daughter. To begin with I lost 75 pounds through good diet and exercise. Once I had the weight off I was able to step up my fitness activity. I trained in martial arts and earned a Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do. To build endurance I began running. This led to running the LA Marathon in 2012. Since then, I have run countless half marathons, 10k and 5k races. As my knees began to protest the rigorous running training, I began to include road cycling. Once on the bike outside, I was hooked. As a result I have taken to the road for several riding adventures ranging from 25 to 105 miles. It was only a matter of time before I began to hit the pool to learn to swim. In 2014, I began to put all 3 activities, running, biking and swimming, together and started training for and racing the sprint triathlon distance. In July 2015 I completed my first Ironman 70.3 distance at Vineman in Santa Rosa, CA. I continue to train as a triathlete with regular spinning classes providing important cycling training sessions.
As a certified cycling instructor, I teach my classes with my love for road cycling being the driver of how I structure my classes. I like to take my students on a ride that challenges their fitness and endurance levels while keeping the atmosphere fun and relaxed. I have been teaching spin class at ATB since January 2015. Come join me for an outdoor riding experience indoors. You will work hard, sweat, laugh, and maybe even participate in a little spinning karaoke! But most importantly you will be doing something positive and fun for yourself! Ride On!
